Making your career dream a reality – Tip 2 of 10

We are capable of more than we imagine, so here is this week’s tip that you can take to significantly improve the probability of your career success and happiness.

Tip 2 of 10: Developing your Confidence

The relationship you have with yourself is the most important relationship you will ever have. It also has a direct impact on the quality of your relationship with others.

Confidence is based simply on how you feel about yourself, how you see yourself and how

you talk to yourself. The greater the confidence in yourself, the more you will enjoy your life. The lower the confidence, the more life becomes stressful and an unhappy experience.

Our minds are programmable and beliefs are part of our mental programming.  You can learn how to change your mental programme and stop being controlled by your negative mental ‘mind chatter’. The more you see yourself as a winner, the more you will achieve.

Current research estimates that 85% of people are well below the level of self-belief and self-confidence that allows them to build a successful career and achieve their true potential. If you are part of that 85%, neither the achievement of your career advancement nor the realisation of your ambitions can ever be met.

Even those who have a higher level of self-belief need help in shifting elements of doubt. This is always true for ambitious people, who habitually stretch themselves to operate close to their natural capability. Success does not create self-belief. Success is born out of self-belief and can then be used to help sustain that self-belief.

Bonus Tip – Build and maintain an easily accessible feedback folder. No matter what kind of work you do, everyone can benefit from filing away positive feedback that can be used as a tool to help navigate challenging days when you begin to question yourself.

So, making that dream career become a reality might not be as daunting as you first thought and may not require anything more than a fresh perspective and way of looking at it. It sounds simple and it is, it’s just not always easy, especially when trying to do it alone.
