I am a qualified and experienced Business and Careers Consultant and have been since 2002.
My background was predominantly within the retail and third sectors in operational management roles from 1989, until I made the transition into careers advice and undertook my Careers’ Advice, Guidance & Advocacy training at Nottingham Trent University, whilst working in partnership with the Ministry of Justice.
Whilst employed as a Careers Advisor within Inbiz (latterly Avanta) during 2004, I diversified to offer business support to individuals assessing their career direction, subsequently working for Business Link (East Midlands Business) from 2009 and taking my Leadership and Management level 5 in business support through the SFEDI Institute, prior to starting my own business and career consultancy.
During the last 13 years my clients have typically ranged from those facing redundancy to individuals whose career path has stagnated or for whom the obvious channels of career and business support are not suitable. Clients are often senior executives, business managers and civil servants, as well as women returners.
I specialise in mid-life transition, whether helping individuals to assess their goals in business or career direction. I have the qualifications, skills and experience at director and senior management level within the private, public and third sectors to understand professionals, seeking to receive specialist career or business support; undertaking executive career coaching, skills analysis and progress planning as well as enabling clients to identify what characteristics they need to become a successful entrepreneur, to start and succeed in business, evaluate and develop their entrepreneurial ability, identify USP’s and analyse business growth areas.
I am described as an approachable individual and a competent performer, who has an excellent track record of enabling clients to achieve their goals. I am systematic, yet enthusiastic, knowledgeable and decisive with a commitment to excellence.
I am a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management as well as the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs.
