At Appleby Associates, a professional career consultant will work with you on a one-to-one basis. Everything we do is tailored to your individual needs, situation and aspirations.

The Two Stage Career Search & Development Programme will enable you to identify a clear career objective and then equip you with the necessary marketing materials.

The Three Stage Career Search & Development Programme will enable you to identify a clear career objective and then equip you with the necessary marketing materials, and interviewing techniques.

The Four Stage Career Search & Development Programme will enable you to identify a clear career objective and then equip you with the necessary marketing materials, interviewing techniques and campaign tools.

You will be supported throughout by a professional career consultant who will have sufficient time and flexibility to tailor each stage to your individual needs, situation and time-scales.

Stage one - Focus

The first stage of the programme will help you clarify what you need from your career and what you have to offer a potential employer, in short, what makes you marketable.

Building on the assessment work you will then explore different career options. Your consultant will help you to evaluate the different options so you can identify the most appealing and viable option which will become your career search objective.

Stage two - Marketing

The second stage will provide you with the necessary marketing materials designed to support your career search objective, demonstrate your skills and prove your capabilities.

You will then learn more productive ways to respond to job advertisements; to identify the right head hunters and recruiters; to directly approach selected organisations; to extend your network; and to develop new networks.

Targeted direct approaches and effective networking will give you access to the informal or unadvertised market where typically 60% to 70% of senior level opportunities are to be found.

Stage three - Interviewing

The third stage will provide you with the necessary preparation and the techniques to enable you to successfully manage referral meetings, interviews and salary negotiations.

You will increase your levels of personal impact and credibility at referral meetings and interviews through role play and practice.

Stage four - Campaign

The final stage of the programme will include the preparation of your career search campaign plan and regular campaign progress review meetings with your consultant. Advice, feedback and tactical input will be provided throughout your campaign.

You will be given full access to AskGrapevine and a personal account with Alert Data.

When you have secured your new position your career consultant will be available as a sounding board or mentor in those early weeks to ensure you make an effective transition to your new role.
